that was won by Dave Ichimura on the Pacifica trip & Cf-Chelofisher Fisher on the Pacific Queen trip. RCJB84 30-60lb.
Everyone had a blast on our (2) 3 day Teamrainshadow Bluefin or Bust Charters on the Pacifica & the Pacific Queen with two great groups of anglers, some new to our fishery so it was an awesome experience for them to see how we fish here in SoCal, there were some PB caught by Jon Takara’s dad Jon Takara, Franli Bencosme, Leroy Ha, Kevin Nilson Dewayne Dixon, Rodrigo Art & Bernard Llamas. Rob caught a 140lb that he donated and lost another good one I stayed busy taking pics and filming I did fish but had no luck but I was so happy to see others catching and enjoying what we love to do! Congrats to Tom King for his big fish for the Pacifica trip which taped out at 239lbs! Some heart breaks as well one was Alex Park he had a big BFT on he hooked it using his Teamrainshadow custom built rod CSCJ76F2 80/100/140# but it was lost due to a bad crimp that a friend did for him, he fought that fish hard Next time my friend Alex you will get redemption.
It was mostly a night bite on knife jigs the most popular jig that hooked the most fish was the 400gram “pinky” Lusca knife jig, Rob & I donated 7 crimped jigs for the raffle and sold 6 for extra money for the crew (see pic below) this jig hooked almost 80% of the fish on both trips!
October is usually a great month for BFT fishing but with it being an La Nina year the weather was up making the conditions tough but both boats worked hard through it all to get us on the fish, Thank you to the Pacifica Captain Andrew Viola & his crew & Pacific Queen Captain Billy & Captain John Mizuhara and crew for all their hard work through different conditions, Also thank you to the chefs for the delicious food and all the new friends we met!
